1. LG S95TR

The best LG soundbar we’ve tested is the LG S95TR. Thanks to its versatility, this high-end 9.1.5 configuration may be used for a wide range of media consumption purposes, including music, films, and TV shows. Its innovative design includes an up-firing centre channel to enhance speech localisation in the mix, in addition to the more conventional front-firing centre channel. This gives you a somewhat more realistic sense and makes it incredibly simple to follow up with the conversations in your favourite material. If you’d rather not have any cables, the bar also supports WOWCAST, which enables you to wirelessly connect it to your compatible LG TV.
This bar provides an excellent overall movie experience. Sound effects appear to emanate from all around you in multichannel content, which includes surround sound codecs like Dolby Digital and height content like Dolby Atmos. Although it doesn’t go as far as other high-end versions like the Samsung HW-Q990D or the Sonos Ultimate Immersive Set with Arc, its stereo soundstage is still excellent overall. Nevertheless, if you’re looking for a high-end model, these bars might be suitable substitutes.

Check out the LG S90TR if you’re seeking for an LG soundbar at a lower cost. Released in 2024, this 7.1.3 configuration shares features with the LG S95TR, including WOWCAST for a wireless look and WOW Orchestra, which uses the speakers on your compatible LG TV in tandem with the bar. Additionally, you can use its room correction feature to tailor the sound to the particular acoustics of your space and access EQ presets to personalise the sound to your preferences. Even said, the default sound is still suitable for the majority of audio files.
Numerous audio formats, including Blu-rays and streaming services, are supported by this soundbar, including Dolby Digital and Dolby Atmos. However, because its satellites don’t have up-firing speakers, it can’t match the S95TR’s height capabilities, which reduces the soundstage’s immersive quality. However, if that’s not a deal breaker and you’re not ready to shell out a lot of money for a top-tier bar, this bar will still provide an excellent overall experience at a lower cost.

Everything sounds crisp and accurate through the bar’s drivers, including music, films and TV broadcasts. Overall, the sound quality is outstanding for the price. You can alter the treble and bass to further personalise the sound.
Numerous audio formats, including Dolby Digital, that are frequently found on Blu-rays and streaming services are supported by this Dolby Atmos soundbar. It must, however, downmix surround content into stereo in order to play it because it is a 3.1.3 setup. The surround sound of the LG S90TR sounds more lifelike than the resultant sound. The sound seems to be coming solely from the speakers in front of you, not from all over the room. Thankfully, if you decide later on to enhance its surround performance, you can simply add more satellites. However, if you don’t watch a lot of surround programming, this model might be a better deal.

Purchasing on a tight budget? Perhaps the LG S65Q is the better option for you. Though it lacks some of the features seen in our top recommendations, this reasonably priced 3.1 setup is still a good improvement over your current TV speakers and won’t break the budget. All things considered, this arrangement is perfect for viewing stereo media, such as most TV series and songs. The distinct centre channel helps to enhance dialogue reproduction, and voices and lead instruments are reproduced with exceptional clarity and accuracy. The bar’s bass and treble settings let you to manually modify the sound, but it doesn’t include a room correction function like the LG S80QY.
You can view films in the bar as well, including ones with more immersive audio formats like Dolby Digital. Though it must downmix surround content into stereo in order to play it back, this lessens the immersive experience overall. It is frustrating that Dolby Atmos video cannot be viewed, considering how frequently it appears on various streaming services. Still, it’s a terrific option to improve stereo sound if you don’t use any streaming services and don’t intend to view a lot of Atmos video. For those who are new to the soundbar scene, this reasonably priced setup is a fantastic place to start.

Despite being modest, the bar has a lot of power because of its expansive soundstage, which gives you a more immersive experience. With more immersive audio formats like Dolby Digital and Dolby Atmos, it’s extremely helpful.
We tried a number of Dolby Atmos bars, and this premium 3.1.2 soundbar is one of the smallest. However, unlike the LG S95TR, it lacks a room correction capability and does not come with satellites. As a result, the sound varies based on your space’s acoustics. You may always manually change the bass and treble to make up for this.
